Hunter X Hunter
A Hunter is someone who travels the globe doing all kinds of risky duties. From capturing criminals to looking for some missing treasures deep inside uncharted lands. Gon is a young boy whose dad, who was a Hunter, disappeared long ago. He believes that if he could pursue the path of his father as well, he could one day reunite with him.
Gon assumes the challenge of joining the Hunter exam after turning 12, infamous for his poor success rate and high risk of death to become an official Hunter.
He befriends Kurapika, the vengeance-driven Leorio, and the rebellious ex-assassin Killua, with their relationship prevailing in the many trials and challenges they face in the risky Hunter’s profession.
Hunter X Hunter has peacefully secured its place in the best adventure anime series and we cannot resist watching it.
There is a Mage Guild named Fairy Tail, set in an imaginary world, the Earth Land. Fairy Tail is stationed in the town of Magnolia, living in the Kingdom of Fiore, and is currently ruled by Makarov, the master of the Guild.
A fantasy adventure anime is quite popular among young kids for its quite unique plot.
A 17-year-old teen, Lucy Heartfilia, wants to become a full-fledged mage and join one of the world’s most prestigious Mage Guilds, Fairy Tail. She meets Natsu Dragneel, a boy who is transport-sick, but very happy in nature, one day, out of sheer coincidence.
The thing she does not know, however, is that Natsu, as he is a Mage in Fairy Tail, is the closest link to Fairy Tail.
One of the best action adventure anime is Soul Eater with all curiosity and thrill to kill boredom.
The characters that revolve around Soul Eater are Maka & Soul Eater, Black Star & Tsubaki, and Death the Kid with Patty and Liz Thompson.
These students of Shibusen protect Death City from some of the most powerful of creatures while still attending school and seeking to become stronger, in addition to taking the time to collect souls.
Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood
There are alchemists in this country, individuals who research and practice the art of alchemical transmutation to manipulate objects and transform one entity into another.
They are constrained by the fundamental rule of alchemy: you have to sacrifice something of the same importance in order to obtain something.
The main character is the famous alchemist Edward Elric, also known as the Fullmetal Alchemist, who, in an alchemical accident, almost lost his little brother, Alphonse. Edward succeeded in binding the soul of his brother to a large suit of armor.
Although he managed to save the life of his brother, he was paying a horrible price for his limbs.
The brothers embark on a quest to find the Philosopher’s Stone to get back what they have lost, which is said to amplify the powers of an alchemist enormously; however, on the way, they begin to discover a plot that could threaten the entire country, and they realize the misfortunes brought about by the Philosopher’s Stone.
This is absolutely one of the best adventure anime where you learn about chemicals and how they are used.
Sword Art Online
Virtual reality has advanced by leaps and bounds in the year 2022, with the introduction of a major online role-playing game called Sword Art Online (SAO).
Players can monitor their avatars inside the game using nothing but their own thoughts with the help of “NerveGear” technology.
Among the fortunate few fans to get their hands on the first shipment of the game is Kazuto Kirigaya, nicknamed “Kirito.”
He logs in to find himself in the scenic world of Aincrad with ten thousand others, one full of awesome medieval weapons and gruesome monsters. In a cruel turn of events, however, the players soon discover they can not log out; they have been captured by the maker of the game.
Spice and Wolf
A beautiful series that incorporates subtle romance, business, historical elements and animation that is difficult for its period to appreciate.
If you want romance and adventure without flashy action, it’s the best movie. And a rich adventure, of course, which focuses on 2 main characters, which keeps it pleasant and concentrated.
You can sum up wolf and spice reasonably quickly. Be ready for a LOT of conversation. In essence, it’s about a medieval story about trading traders.
A time when the word was more important than anything else to the Catholic Church and someone else was called a witch or a heretic. Since it is set in such archaic times, making an anime about merchant trade would be a great match.
Regular humans are transformed into half-human and half-demon warriors. They have one objective: to kill full-blooded demons.
This is Claymore’s key narrative. What it lacks in an original plot, with its action, adventure and battle scenes, it compensates for. Any of the best in the 18+ genre you will ever see.
For the first few pages, it might be hard to see any merit in his story. Initially, in this ~fantastic~ weird world”let’s watch as some badass kills monsters in this ~fantastical~ weird world lets watch as some badass kills monsters. It seems like the characters or the plot are not planning to do something special. And it still has this odd charm about it.
As an infant, Pacifica Casull is deserted and tossed by the waste hand. Fortunately, she survives and is adopted by two siblings.
One of those rare shows, Scrapped Princess, has it all. Fantasy, magic, historical elements, mecha, and lots of adventure, all included. The way Scrapped Princess does, there are not many shows that can pull it off.
The Scrapped Princess universe is steeped in classic cliches of fantasy. Dragons and sorcery are there, sword fighting and brave knights, evil villains and heroes are there.
The discovery early on is what keeps all this fresh, that not everything in this universe is really as it seems.
The plot revolves around Pacifica Casull’s character, the “Scrapped Princess” and while she knows she is being hunted because of Grendel’s Prophecy, her frustration about who she really is and her helpless anger when people are killed because of her enemy’s pursuit of her does not sink to the level of low melodrama seen in other anime of this kind.
You will love the plot and scenes shifting over…
Mugen is an aggressive, thoughtless and womanizing wild warrior buck. Jin is a mysterious, traditional, well-mannered, and very potent vagrant ronin.
These two fiercely independent warriors can no longer be separate from each other, but their paths cross when, after a brutal swordfight, Fuu, a ditzy waitress, saves them from being executed when they are captured.
Fuu persuades the two vagrant young men to help her locate a mysterious “sunflower-smelling” samurai, and their quest begins. This is a tale of passion, friendship, and bravery.
This fantasy action anime got everything to keep you hooked up till the end of the season.
InuYasha follows Kagome Higurashi, a fifteen-year-old girl whose usual life ends when a demon drags her into a cursed well on the grounds of her family’s Shinto shrine, based on the Shogakukan award-winning manga of the same name.
Instead of reaching the bottom of the well, during Japan’s violent Sengoku period, Kagome ends up 500 years in the past with the real target of the devil, a wish-granting jewel called the Shikon Jewel, reborn inside her.
Kagome enlists the aid of a young hybrid dog-demon/human named Inuyasha after a confrontation with a resurrected demon that unintentionally causes the sacred jewel to shatter, to help her retrieve the shards and keep them from falling into the wrong hands.
The orphan fox-demon Shippo, the intelligent monk Miroku, and the deadly demon slayer Sango join Kagome and Inuyasha on their quest.
Together, their differences must be set aside and they must work together to find the force that grants shards scattered throughout feudal Japan and deal with the challenges that arise.
Magi: The Labyrinth of Magic
The tale follows a boy named Aladdin’s journeys across a strange land in which it is said that ancient ruins called dungeons are home to precious riches.
Aladdin encounters Alibaba, a friend who aims to conquer a dungeon and to acquire its riches. Aladdin can also think about his own destiny through all the meetings and separations he faces along the way.
Himura Kenshin, with a dark background and sunny personality, is a vagabond.
Not a ronin, but a rurouni, never a ninja, but an assassin of the utmost talent in the restoration of Meiji, who actually walked away at the turning point of the battle.
In the 11th year of the Meiji period, his travels led him to Tokyo, where he made friends with a Kendo master woman, a former thief, a brawler, and a doctor, all with their own secrets.
They fight together against the enemies that emerge from the dark past that Kenshin can’t avoid.
Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure
Young aristocrat Jonathan Joestar finds himself locked in bitter competition with Dio Brando, a boy who Jonathan’s father took under his wing after the death of Dio’s father, beginning his story in England in the 19th century.
Discontent with his existence, the fathomless urge of Dio to rule over everything finally leads him to look for the mystical powers of an ancient Aztec stone mask in the possession of Joestar.
Fifty years later, in New York City in 1938, the grandson of Jonathan, Joseph Joestar, must take up the mission of his grandfather and learn the skills required to defeat the stone mask and its incredibly powerful makers, the Pillar Men, who threaten the very life of humanity.
The anime stands quit well in the list of best adventure anime series and go for it.
Guardian of the Sacred Spirit
A young prince is at risk of being assassinated by his own people. His mother hires a bodyguard secretly to take care of him and flee.
This anime has tasteful animation, beautiful music, a distinctive art style and a good pace for an adventure series. And one of the most polished, well-developed women I’ve ever seen is the female protagonist.
Did I note that there is no silly, inappropriate fan service here?
In the 1990’s, Slayers was made. And it’s one of the highest quality shows with a female lead I’ve seen. Lina Inverse is a strong young magician interested in one thing: money.
So she goes treasure searching and ends up on wild adventures of all sorts. Slayers is like Fairy Tail’s old school version, at least that’s how I would describe it. Except that fan service is limited in Slayers.
The storylines are very good, interestingly enough, and will likely fit right in with any other “serious” fantasy series.
The writers wanted to do a respectable job and actually overlay the humor right on top of it, rather than making the story dumb as everybody gets out (a la Dragon Half).
Slayers is almost indistinguishable in parts (particularly Volume 2) from its more somber siblings.
So, if you like fantasy and you like to laugh, maybe Slayers is the show for you. And now, for something new entirely.
In Log Horizon, in an MMORPG called Elder Stories, the characters are trapped. So they decide to live inside the game and, from scratch, establish their own community.
What follows is industry, politics, and adventures full of comedy AND gaming action from some shows. It is like a combination of the business elements of Spice And Wolf, with the powerful elements of video games blended into one show.
The newest anime ‘stuck in a video game world’ is Log Horizon. Many individuals believed that it will be just like the incredibly famous and hyped “Sword Art Online.”
The first episode, however, is sufficient to refute any kind of illusion that there is something in common between these two shows.
Take away the fantasy atmosphere of the video-game-style, and comparing these two shows is like comparing an action/romance anime to a slice of life anime.
Log Horizon follows more of the laid-back and slower speed of the slice of life route than many other fantasy anime in which individuals struggle for survival.
Just watch it to find the best action adventure anime still exists.
Akame Ga Kill
This anime is part of the lineup for Summer 2014, and it’s called Akame ga Kill. It’s a twenty-four episode anime about killing each other with a bunch of Shounen characters, and it’s f*cking awesome.
A group of murderers is coming together to overthrow the oppressive capital, the government, and to create a revolution to bring justice to the world.
This is the most brutal, sad, unethical series of adventures you will be watching. With some of modern-day anime’s sickest action and fight scenes.
In terms of killing off people, I like the approach it takes, rather than the “I can’t die” trope that most shows throw around.
You will definitely rank it among one of the best adventure anime series.
In Another World with My Smartphone
This is a harem/supernatural series if you never guessed. The main character is accidentally killed by god, and brought back to life as a sign of error of gods.
The joke is: Mochizuki Touya (main character) is given the phone number of gods, so he can call him anytime. If you take this anime too seriously, you will love this series for its humor, character of OP, and episode-filled adventure.
It’s not clear if it is a straightforward sitcom, a harem, or a fantasy action series in the first few episodes.
The series does not really reveal its harem origins until the second half, although the poster shows Touya taking a picture with several different girls.
In Another World With My Smartphone, if push comes to shove, it’s best described as a slice of life set in a fantasy world that gradually becomes a full-blown harem.
Although the premise suggests that it may also be a parody of the isekai genre, until the last two episodes it mostly sticks to the cliches and stereotypes associated with this form of anime.
